Ohio Governor Taft visits Hamilton

On Thursday February 24, Hamilton Caster hosted Ohio Governor Bob Taft.His visit included a complete tour of the company’s facilities and the governor saw first-hand how people and technology are harnessed to build high quality products efficiently.
The Governor praised the workforce and commented on the company’s leading warranty—three years on forged steel casters—which is unmatched in the industry.He indicated that manufacturing jobs are vital to the state and the state needs a tax structure that keeps these “good” jobs in the state.
Hamilton Caster President Dave Lippert led the Governor on a complete tour of the manufacturing operations which included machining, welding and assembly.Along the way the governor chatted with employees and shook lots of hands.He also toured the office facility and then he met with Hamilton Caster employees and the press for a brief discussion about the current Ohio tax structure and his new proposal.
Once Governor Taft completed his remarks Hamilton Mayor Don Ryan, a business owner himself, also spoke briefly about the necessity of having a tax structure that promotes economic prosperity and job growth.
The afternoon was quite exciting for Hamilton Caster employees, most of whom had never seen the governor in person before.In appreciation for his visit, Governor Taft was presented a Hamilton Caster denim shirt by the Company.
